Convicted of espionage in Russia scholar Igor Sutyagin arrived in Vienna, told RIA Novosti, his lawyer Anna Stavitskaya. Sutyagin, sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, was transferred from the Archangel prison in Moscow jail Lefortovo. Privacy talked about the possibility to exchange for the detainees in the U.S. on suspicion of spying for Russia.

President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree to pardon, on condition that Sutyagin admits his guilt. Sutyagin agreed to this proposal. According to Sutyagin, each of the convicts sent to the West offered to bring one family member. Sutyagin himself decided to leave Russia alone. 
The fact that Sutyagin could be exchanged for suspects of spying for Russia, said earlier lawyer Anna Stavitskaya. According to her, eleven people will change to 11 people - among them are Igor Sutyagin. "Despite the fact that this situation occurred and he agreed, he stressed that did not agree, he could not. Otherwise, his life would be ruined," - said Stavitskaya. She noted that Sutyagin asked to convey that "all should be aware that he did not commit this crime."
